The Apocrypha
Home > Pastor's Blog > The ApocryphaOn Wednesday Night, September 22nd, at 6:30pm, we will try to answer a question about “The Apocrypha.” One of our Bible Study attendees noticed in their copy of a Revised Standard Version Bible that there were some extra books in that Bible. In addition to the Old Testament and New Testament, there were 14 other books called The Apocrypha: 1st and 2nd Esdras, Tobit, Judith, Additions to the Book of Esther, Wisdom of Solomon, Ecclesiasticus, Baruch(&Letter of Jeremiah), Prayer of Azariah, Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, Prayer of Manasseh, 1st and 2nd Maccabees. Some editions of the Apocrypha have a few more books.
The Wednesday Night Question of the Week is: Should Christians consider these additional books as Scripture or just as interesting Jewish literature? What do you think?
