Is Northlake a Healthy Church?
Home > Pastor's Blog > Is Northlake a Healthy Church? On Wednesday Night, January 7th, we will discuss Church Health. As a member of the Chattahoochee Baptist Association’s Church Strengthening Team, I often receive news articles and books about church growth and revitalization. One of those books is called “What is a Healthy Church?” written by Mark Dever who is pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC. He says that there are 9 Marks of a Healthy Church.
1) Expositional Preaching
2) Biblical Theology
3) A Biblical Understanding of the Gospel
4) A Biblical Understanding of Conversion
5) A Biblical Understanding of Evangelism
6) A Biblical Understanding of Membership
7) Biblical Church Discipline
8) Biblical Discipleship & Growth
9) Biblical Church Leadership
In the book, Mark makes the case for each of these 9 Marks from the Bible in general and from the early church in particular.
