Who are the Priests under the New Testament ?

Home > Pastor's Blog > Who are the Priests under the New Testament ?

On Wednesday Night, Jan 11th, we will continue our January Bible Study from the Book of Malachi. In the second session of our study, the topic concerns the work of the priesthood. In the Old Testament, the priesthood was assigned by the Lord to one of the twelve Tribes of Israel known as the “sons of Levi” or “the Levites.” The Priests and Levites were responsible for the Worship and Service of the Lord.

As Christians, we believe that Jesus was and is “the Christ”, “the Messiah” and He fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies of Prophet, Priest, and King. As He went to the Cross, Jesus instituted a New Covenant or New Testament (Mat 26:28).
