Our Wednesday night topic for August 22^nd will be a discussion of the recent Chic Fil A appreciation day. As you remember, the storm over Chick-fil-A dates to mid-July, when Dan Cathy (president of Chic-fil-A) was quoted from an interview about his dedication to traditional Biblical family values.  Homosexual activists responded by calling for a boycott of Chick-fil-A. In response to the boycott, former Arkansas Gov. and  FOX News talk show host Mike Huckabee declared Aug. 1 to be Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.  Based on news reports, Chic-fil-A had a record day for sales.

      While all this was going on, I received a lot of email and facebook comments and concerns that while most of us may have enjoyed eating chicken sandwiches for a good cause –  we may at the same time have looked to the unchurched world as judgmental, unloving, unkind, even hateful.  Then the question came up about “What would Jesus Do?.”   What would Jesus say about our Chic fil A Day?  Please check the poll and feel free to comment:
