Our Wednesday night topic for Nov 14^th will be a discussion of Secret Societies. One of our members was recently asked this question by one of his friends who was considering becoming a Freemason.

Freemasonry has been an ongoing controversy in the Southern Baptist Convention for the last 20 years or so.  Some Baptists see the Masons as just another civic club doing good deeds for the community.  Others see Freemasonry as a more sinister organization that practices satanic rituals and / or conspires to rule the world.
