iShare – Personal Evangelism

Home > Pastor's Blog > iShare – Personal Evangelism

On Wednesday Night, July 30th , we will be discussing personal evangelism. Recently, I received a booklet from the Evangelism Ministries of the Georgia Baptist Convention called “iShare.”  The booklet was written to train and encourage Christians to share our faith in Jesus with those who do not know Him. In this little book, we are reminded that once we become Christians it is our duty to be a “witness” and to share our testimony with everyone. In Acts 1:8 we are given this final command from Jesus before He ascended into Heaven “you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”  In 1 Peter 3:15, the Apostle Peter said “sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

I believe most Christians understand that it is our duty and privilege to share our faith in Christ with others. According to a Lifeway Christian Resources poll – 80% of those who attend church one or more times a month believe that they have a personal responsibility to share their faith; however, 60% have NOT done so in the last 6 months.

Often the reason that Christians give for failure to share their faith is “I don’t know how.”  On Wednesday night, we will do some “iShare” training with a simple method of HOW TO SHARE OUR FAITH. But to prepare our hearts for this discussion, please participate in our poll:

Have you shared your faith with a non-Christian in the last 6 months?

  • Yes (74%, 17 Votes)
  • No (26%, 6 Votes)

Total Voters: 23
