How to STRENGTHEN ourselves for the Spiritual Battle

Home > Pastor's Blog > How to STRENGTHEN ourselves for the Spiritual Battle

On Wednesday Night, Feb 21st, we will conclude our Winter Bible Study – “First Peter: Living as Strangers in a Secular World.”

In 1st Peter, the Apostle Peter is writing a letter to encourage Christians who are suffering the pain of persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ. He explains to them (and us) the principle of eternal SECURITY that once we are saved, we are forever saved. He encourages us to be SERIOUS about our study of the Scriptures so we may grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. He teaches us how to SUBMIT ourselves to the Will of God by submitting ourselves to the various authorities that God has placed in our life. Then Peter explains the problems of SUFFERING and he offers some SOLUTIONS. Finally he summarizes this letter with an exhortation on how the church can STRENGTHEN itself to be victorious in the spiritual battles we face. In 1 Peter 5:5, Peter says the key to being strong in the faith is to be:
