Dealing with Grief

Home > Pastor's Blog > Dealing with Grief

Our Wednesday night topic for October 17th will be a discussion on Grief. In the Last 2 months, the Northlake Church family has experienced the loss of 6 of our family members with ages ranging from 35 to 94. Some passed from this life after extended illnesses and suffering; others died suddenly without any warning. Anytime there is loss, there will be grief.

The question for the evening is – How are Christians supposed to Deal with Grief?  In 1 Thessalonians 4, it is assumed that Christians will experience SORROW in the death of our loved ones, but we are told not to “sorrow as others who have no hope.”   What is the difference between Hopeless Sorrow and Hopeful Sorrow?   How do we find Help & Healing from our Grief and Sorrows?
