On Wednesday Night, Sep 4th,  we will have a “Back to School Special” discussion on Cavemen & Dinosaurs. As our children return to school – from the picture books in preschool to college texts in the Biology department  – students will be taught that millions of years ago there was an Age of Dinosaurs, but the dinosaurs became extinct long before the first caveman appeared on the planet.  It will not be presented as a theory or an educated guess. This “Theory of Evolution” will be presented as scientific fact complete with pictures, videos, charts, graphs, and timelines.

As parents and grandparents who are helping our children with homework, we may be asked about how Cavemen & Dinosaurs fit into the Bible story. We need to be prepared to answer for this is not a trivial matter.  Our childrens faith is either  strengthened or undermined by our answers. How the Bible deals with Cavemen & Dinosaurs is radically different from the story they are being taught in most schools. Basic logic tells our children that if the Bible is not accurate about the beginning of life – how can we be sure that the Bible is telling the truth about the end of life?  If the Bible is wrong about Dinosaurs, is the Bible right about Heaven?
