Are you Experiencing God ?

Home > Pastor's Blog > Are you Experiencing God ?

On Wednesday Night, March 21st, we will consider the question “Are you Experiencing God?  In 1990, Henry Blackaby & Claude King wrote a Bible study course called “Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God.”  The response to this Bible study was huge. The authors discovered that many Christians had “head knowledge but little heart and life experience with God. They were longing to experience God.”

A few years later, this “Experiencing God” was set to music. This musical will be featured in our Easter musical this year.

While Bible study courses tend to have a “shelf-life” and we move on to try to find some other program to implement or course to study, our desire as Christians to know God should not be a temporary affair. Our desire to KNOW and DO the will of God should last forever. As the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 3:8ff “I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord.. that I may gain Christ and be found in Him… through faith… that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”

As we prepare our hearts to celebrate the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, let us consider our relationship with Him. Are you Experiencing God? Are you knowing and doing the will of God?
