Happy Thanksgiving!

Home > Pastor's Blog > Happy Thanksgiving!

The Bible tells us that it is Gods Will for us to be Thankful.  1 Thessalonians 5:18 says “In every thing GIVE THANKS: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  In EVERY THING?  Yes, be thankful to the Lord for both Good times and Bad. WHY?  Because of Romans 8:28 “we know that ALL THINGS work together for GOOD to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” We can be THANKFUL in ALL THINGS because God is working ALL THINGS  (both Good & Bad) together for our GOOD.

Thanksgiving Day is also the beginning of the Christmas Season. So, our Wednesday Night Bible Studies will be interrupted for the next couple of weeks.  On Wednesday night, November 24th, our services will be canceled so you can spend time with your families. On Wednesday night, December 1st, we will have special Mission Emphasis as we kick off the annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and Week of Prayer for International Missions.  But when we get back to our regular schedule on Wednesday, December 8th, we will be talking about a subject that all Christians should be thankful for – God’s Gift of Salvation through God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

Specifically, we’ve been asked to discuss whether our Salvation is conditional or unconditional. To help us start thinking about this subject – please give us your opinion in the poll displayed below. Also, feel free to write a comment.
