Are you Saved? Are you Sure?

Home > Pastor's Blog > Are you Saved? Are you Sure?

On Wednesday Night, September 9th, at 6:30pm we will study “Eternal Security.” This is a follow-up question from our last Wednesday Night Study – “Is there a real place called Hell?” At the end of the study, I asked the question -“Are you Saved? Are you Sure?”  I then received the following question: How can we be sure that we are truly saved?

That is such a great question that it divides Christian denominations. Southern Baptists are known for their belief in “once saved always saved.” Some other Christian denominations teach that it is possible to be saved and then get involved in some sin and “lose your salvation.”  Both claim to have verses in the Bible that prove their point. Some denominations teach that it is possible to have “Blessed Assurance” – that you are saved and you can be sure of it. Others teach that you can never be sure until you die and arrive at your final destination.  To help us start thinking about this subject – please give us your opinion in the poll displayed below. Also, feel free to write a comment.
