“Social Justice: WWJD? “

Home > Pastor's Blog > “Social Justice: WWJD? “

On Wednesday Night, Jun 10th, at 6:30, we will discuss – “Social Justice: What Would Jesus Do?” The death of George Floyd on May 25th in Minneapolis became some kind of tipping point. Maybe it is the long list of incidents where the police have used excessive force. Maybe it was being “sheltered in place” for 3 months by the coronavirus. Maybe it is the politics of a Presidential Election year – but it all spilled over into protesting and rioting in the streets of cities all across the nation.

But the question for the evening is: How should a Christian respond to these happenings? Should we support the government and the police who are trying to maintain law and order? Or, Should we support the passive resistance of peaceful protestors marching in the streets calling for reforms in our government? Or, Should we support the active agitators who believe that reforms will never come without a revolution so they are using rioting, violence, fires, and looting to get their point across?

If Jesus was here in the flesh, what would He say?  What would He Do? As we prepare for Wednesday Night, please medidate on “Social Justice: WWJD?” and answer the following question:

Would Jesus support:

  • The Government & Law Enforcement (40%, 18 Votes)
  • None of the Above (31%, 14 Votes)
  • Other (please explain in a comment (11%, 5 Votes)
  • The Passive Peaceful Protestors (9%, 4 Votes)
  • All of the Above (7%, 3 Votes)
  • The Active Agitating Revolutionaries (2%, 1 Votes)

Total Voters: 45
