Church Membership?

Since Pastor Danny’s April 19 message, we have had a lot of folks join our worship service for the first time online. We have been grateful to hear how much our church’s ministry has made an impact on people up to this point, as people from nearly every state and numerous countries have watched and responded to our services. In fact, some have enjoyed this piece of our church so much they have said they would like to join our church at Northlake, though they live at a distance. Often, this is because they have had a hard time finding a biblical church in their area.

So, tonight we will discuss what it really means to become a member of a church, according to the Bible. In the process, we will also work out a biblical description of a church. Hopefully, by addressing these central concerns, we can 1) help folks who have had a hard time finding a church have better ammo for searching their area and testing churches and 2) to clarify what role Northlake should play in the lives of people who live at a great distance from us, and what role they should play in our lives.

The question for tonight, then, is:

Which metaphor best describes what joining a church is like?

  • Getting a CostCo or Sam's Club Membership (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Signing Up for a Celebrity Fan Club (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Starting a High School Relationship (0%, 0 Votes)

Total Voters: 11
