The Transformational Nature of Ministry

On Wednesday Night, Jan 29th, we will continue our “Winter Bible Study” from Second Corinthians. We will study chapters 2-4 and focus on “The Transformational Nature of Ministry.” The theme of “Transformation” comes from 2Co 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” The word for “Transformed” in the Greek is “Meta-morph-o-o” from which we get the English word “Metamorphosis.” Metamorphosis means “to change in form to something completely different.” An example of this kind of change is watching a caterpillar morph into a butterfly. A similar example should be the change we see in a person who believes in Jesus Christ – 2Cor 5:17 “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Our Second Corinthians study reminds Christians that the Lord has given us all a ministry to share Christ with others and to observe this transformation into Christlikeness. And that is our question for the evening:

Have you ever shared Christ with someone and observed this change?
