On Wednesday Night, Jan 22nd, we will continue our “Winter Bible Study” from 2 Corinthians. We will study chapters 1 & 2 and focus on “The Relational Aspect of Ministry.” Part of our discussion will include the Biblical teaching about Church Discipline.

In 2Cor 2:1-11, it seems that the Apostle Paul is giving the church a critique on how they handled the issue of church discipline. Many scholars believe the sin requiring punishment was the incident in 1 Corinthians 5 – where a church member was involved in sexual immorality and the church had done nothing to remedy the situation. Paul warns the church that if this sin is not disciplined, it has a way of spreading throughout the congregation.
