“Revelation Overview “

Home > Pastor's Blog > “Revelation Overview “

On Wednesday Night, February 6th , we will discuss “The Revelation.” We have received several requests to have a Bible Study on the Book of The Revelation. The Revelation is a very broad subject which cannot be covered in an hour of Bible Study; therefore, we will concentrate on one part of The Revelation that members of The Church are most concerned about – The Rapture. In 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, the Bible says, “For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up [Greek – Harpidzo, Latin – Rapiemur = Raptured] together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

So 1 Thessalonians clearly teaches about a Rapture. But the question for the evening is: Where is the Rapture in the Book of The Revelation?   Some prophecy teachers say the Rapture is located at Revelation 4:1 “Come up here.” Some teach that the Rapture is located at Revelation 7:9 “I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands.” Some teach that the Rapture is located in Rev 14: 15 “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
