The Book of Life

On Wednesday Night, April 4th, we will try to answer a question about “The Book of Life.” This question comes from Rev 3: 5 “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.”

This verse seems to offer assurance to Christians who “overcome” that their salvation is secure. Their name is in the Book of Life and will not be erased. They will dwell in the future Kingdom of Heaven with the LORD and his angels. But at the same time, it also seems to imply that some names may be blotted out of the Book of Life which may mean that it is possible for someone whose name is currently in the Book of Life – that they could sin and have their name blotted out. In other words, they could “lose their salvation.”

How do you interpret Revelation 3:5 ?

Is it possible for a Christian to be "blotted out" of the Book of Life ?
