What does it mean to pray “in the spirit”?

Home > Pastor's Blog > What does it mean to pray “in the spirit”?

On Wednesday Night, August 9th, we will continue our prayer study. We will focus our attention on “praying in the Spirit.” Eph 6:18 tells us to be “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.” In the Book of Jude verse 20 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” So far in our study, we have learned that we are to pray to our heavenly Father, in the name of the Son, and (this week) by the power of the Holy Spirit.
