Weekly Bible Study

Home > Pastor's Blog > Weekly Bible Study

On Wednesday Night, Jun 8th, we will be discussing “Bible Study.”  I have been asked recently and on several earlier occasions about Bible Study. What methods do I use in Bible Study? How long does it take to prepare a Sermon?  How do I prepare Sermons?

I believe it is important to begin your Bible Study with a prayerful attitude asking the Lord to Illuminate the Scriptures that He has already Inspired. For example, Psalm 119: 18 “Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.” Or Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my Strength and my Redeemer.” As I begin to read the Scriptures, I ask the following questions: What does it Say? What does it Mean? and So What?  So, what is this Word from the Lord saying to me and to my family and to the church?

As you begin to ask and answer these questions, the Bible begins to “come  alive” and all this takes time. That will be our Question for the Evening:

How much time do you spend each week in Bible Study?
