On Wednesday Night, Apr 8th, we will discuss the Posture of Prayer.  Often in Church meetings, you hear Pastors or Evangelists call people to prayer by saying – “Let’s go to the Lord in Prayer… with every HEAD BOWED & EVERY EYE CLOSED…”  Where did that originate? Is there a Command in the Bible to Pray with Heads Bowed and Eyes Closed? In some churches, there are “kneelers” built into the rail at the front of the sanctuary. I’ve even seen churches with “kneelers” built into the back of the pews to encourage people to kneel while praying.  Some people pray with hands clasped together, some with arms extended out and hands opened up, and some pray with arms lifted. In 1 Kings 8, King Solomon is dedicating the Temple and the Bible says he stood when he prayed and spread out his hands toward heaven. Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, knelt down and prayed.
