Worship Wars

In our Wednesday Night study for Jan 23rd,  we will be discussing “Worship Wars.” One of the most controversial topics in church life during the last 30 years has been the music format of worship services. Worship is more than music, but music is the part of the service that allows more participation from the congregation. And within most congregations, there are a variety of opinions on what kind of music should be used in worship.

Unfortunately, many churches have conflict in this area. Some believe worship should be quiet, reserved, and dignified. These tend to want a more traditional style of music. Others believe worship should be more emotional and that true worship should “move you.”  These tend to want a more contemporary style of music.

What do you think? Please vote in the poll below.
